We are pleased to invite you to our first ConservativeHome Live event of 2022: Green Growth Unlocked – How can the UK environmental sector contribute to economic growth? taking place at 7pm on Monday 31st January.
This online event, held in partnership with The Horticultural Trades Association, will explore how the environmental sector could help the UK Government to achieve the several of the objectives of the 25 Year Environment Plan and its wider sustainability goals; as well as delivering the renewal of urban spaces, upskilling for UK workers and growth in trade – which in turn can all drive economic growth.
If the UK is going to meet the Government’s Net Zero ambitions without undermining economic growth or increasing the overall cost of living, how can it harness innovation and cleaner, greener economic activity to do so?
Paul Goodman, ConservativeHome’s Editor, will be chairing the discussion with an expert panel featuring:
- George Eustice MP, Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs
- James Barnes, Chair, The Horticultural Trades Association
- Sue Biggs, CBE, Director General, Royal Horticultural Society
- Lord Deben, Chairman, Climate Change Committee
As ever, the event is free to view via Zoom, and we’ll be putting audience questions to the Secretary of State and his fellow panelists.
