The Queen’s Speech was approved yesterday evening in the Commons by a majority of almost a hundred.  So this seems not a bad moment to launch our latest guide to the new generation of Conservative MPs.

Henry Hill and I worked together on the two predecessor volumes – Cameron’s Children and May’s Men and Women. This third piece of work is all his, for which very many thanks.

As ever, the guide looks at the new MPs’ background, including former candidacies, work, local government experience, and education (where it can be found).

With over a hundred members, this intake is larger than either of its two immediate predecessors – over a quarter of the whole Parliamentary Party.

It will therefore have a huge impact on the outlook and culture not only of Tory MPs but of Parliament as a whole, and not just because of its shift northwards.
