The editors never tire of pointing out that those who comment on the threads of ConservativeHome are not necessarily representative of its readers.

A finding from our latest monthly survey shows that this truth is evergreen.

For while we detect a certain edginess in the threads about next Thursday’s election, the thousand or so Party member respondents to our survey are brimming with confidence.

No fewer than 92 per cent anticipate a Tory-led government afterwards.  76 per cent expect an overall majority.

That’s a record by some margin.  Time perhaps to brush up on one’s Kipling. “For frantic boast and foolish word – / Thy mercy on Thy People, Lord!”

131 comments for: Our survey. A record nine in ten Party members expect Johnson to return to Downing Street as Prime Minister.
