That’s 87 per cent of respondents expecting to see a Conservative-led Government after the general election on December 12.

For context, the comparable figures for previous surveys since Boris Johnson was elected Tory leader have been as follows:

  • 82 per cent (September survey).
  • 85 per cent (August survey.)
  • 83 per cent (July survey.)

Those findings compare to a 64 per cent total in June, when Theresa May was still Prime Minister, with a leadership election looming.

So Party members go into the long election campaign in bullish mood.  You must make up your mind about whether their confidence is justified.
