
Again, Dominic Raab scoops over half the vote. He had 60 per cent again Jeremy Hunt; here, he has 57 per cent against Sajid Javid. Hunt had 30 per cent; so does Javid. And the abstention rate is squeezed down.
A pattern is emerging whereby the contender more associated with the Government, as members are likely to see it, gets roughly a third of the total and the one less associated gets over half.
Or, if you like, when a pro-Brexit non-Cabinet member enters the fray, he does better than the other candidate.
