Last month, 45 per cent of our Party member panel respondents said that the Prime Minister should resign now, and 36 by the time of the next election.
This month, those totals are 40 per cent and 39 per cent.
So almost 79 per cent of our panel members believe that new Party leader should be in place for the next election, whenever that is, compared to 81 per cent last month.
And, as we keep pointing out, this combined total has never fallen below 50 per cent since we started asking the question.
This is a Groundhog Day finding and further evidence of the consistency of the panel. Last month’s equivalent ToryDiary cited each monthly answer since the question was launched last year, and is worth looking at if one wants to find peaks and troughs.
