If you’re a member of our Party member readers’ survey panel, look out in your inbox – our new monthly survey should have arrived with you this morning.
Following the success of last month’s trial of this new, more secure system for carrying out the survey, we hope readers will again respond in large numbers.
This month, participants will find that there has been one addition to the list of potential next Tory leaders: Jacob Rees-Mogg. Last month’s survey did not include him as a named option, but such was his popularity as a write-in candidate that on the strength of those nominations alone he would have been in third place (behind “Other” and David Davis), so we have taken the decision to include him on the list of names. He joins Davis, Michael Gove, Damian Green, Philip Hammond, Sajid Javid, Boris Johnson, Andrea Leadsom, Priti Patel, Dominic Raab, Amber Rudd and Rory Stewart to bring the total options to a dozen.
In addition to the standard next leader question, we are asking members’ views on how long Theresa May should serve in Downing Street, the duration of any Brexit transition period, as well as the regular ranking of the Cabinet, and their expected outcome of the next General Election.
We will bring you all the results of the survey very soon. Thank you, as ever, for taking part.
