We don’t want to spoil peoples’ weekend but the above poll has just been published on Ipsos-MORI’s website.  A 10% lead for the Tories in the previous MORI poll has become a 1% Labour lead.  This position is very different from recent surveys for ComRes and YouGov which both put the Conservatives 8% ahead but not too dissimilar from an ICM survey which gave us only a narrow 2% advantage.

The fieldwork for the Ipsos-MORI poll was 17-23 January – so before Hain’s resignation and certainly before all the Conway controversy.  We should wait for some post-Conway polls before drawing any conclusions.
