A YouGov poll for the Sunday Times puts Labour on 40%, the Conservatives 33% and the LibDems 15%. An ICM poll last weekend also put Labour ahead by 7%.
A majority of respondents to this poll, 54%, said Brown should call an election within a few months. Only 32% said he shouldn’t.
The 1700 respondents were consulted before the by-election results. They also gave Brown a strong lead on "sticking to his beliefs", 44% to Cameron’s 12%, and on being perceived as strong, 35% to 8%.
