18.30 Update on Good Friday:

“The Prime Minister has been able to do short walks, between periods of rest, as part of the care he is receiving to aid his recovery.

“He has spoken to his doctors and thanks the whole clinical team for the incredible care he has received.

“His thoughts are with those affected by this terrible disease.”

 

 

19.30 Update on Maundy Thursday:

“The Prime Minister has been moved this evening from intensive care back to the ward, where he will receive close monitoring during the early phase of his recovery. He is in extremely good spirits.”

13.00 Update on April 9:

‘”The PM had a good night and continues to improve in intensive care at St Thomas’s hospital.

The PM and No10 are hugely grateful for the support and thank the NHS staff for the brilliant care he is receiving.”

19.00 Update on April 8:

“The Prime Minister continues to make steady progress. He remains in intensive care.”

8.50 Update on April 7:

“The Prime Minister’s condition is stable and he remains in intensive care for close monitoring. He is in good spirits.”

The statement from the official spokesman is as follows:

“He’s been stable overnight and remains in good spirits. He is receiving standard oxygen treatment and is breathing without any other assistance. He has not required mechanical ventilation or non-invasive respiratory support.”

Earlier today, Michael Gove went into self-isolation after a family member fell ill, but tweets that he is “not displaying symptoms and am continuing to work as normal.
