‘The PM had a good night and continues to improve in intensive care at St Thomas’s hospital.

‘The PM and No10 are hugely grateful for the support and thank the NHS staff for the brilliant care he is receiving.’

19.00 Update on April 8:

“The Prime Minister continues to make steady progress. He remains in intensive care.”

8.50 Update on April 7:

“The Prime Minister’s condition is stable and he remains in intensive care for close monitoring. He is in good spirits.”

The statement from the official spokesman is as follows:

“He’s been stable overnight and remains in good spirits. He is receiving standard oxygen treatment and is breathing without any other assistance. He has not required mechanical ventilation or non-invasive respiratory support.”

Earlier today, Michael Gove went into self-isolation after a family member fell ill, but tweets that he is “not displaying symptoms and am continuing to work as normal.
