Last night’s selection meeting in Rushcliffe was hotly contested – I’m told that it went to three full rounds of voting.
in the end, Ruth Edwards won out in the final ballot over Jack Tinley.
To recap her bio:
Ruth Edwards: A cyber-security policy specialist, Edwards is a former head of cyber-security at TechUK and has written on the topic for this site. Previously a crime and justice research fellow at Policy Exchange, she is now works for BT, advising governments on cyber-security. She is also a former adviser to the Home Affairs Select Committee and to Crispin Blunt, when he was Shadow Minister for Home Affairs and Counter Terrorism. In 2017, under her maiden name of Davis, she contested Ceredigion.
In a rather nice turn of events, she recently got married, having met her husband when he was the Ceredigion association chairman.
