Kevin Foster MP to be a Parliamentary Under Secretary of State (unpaid) at the Wales Office and an Assistant Government Whip (paid). He will also be a Parliamentary Secretary (unpaid) at the Cabinet Office while Chloe Smith MP is on maternity leave.

In the former two posts he is taking the place of Nigel Adams, who resigned yesterday over the Prime Minister’s decision to seek Jeremy Corbyn’s support to pivot to a softer Brexit.

His is the last appointment announced, meaning the broad sweep of empty PPS positions we highlighted this morning remain largely unfilled. Theresa May has confined her efforts to trying to staff the upper ranks of the Government.
