Last week, Peter Hoskin left ConHome. (My appreciation of him can be read here.) And tomorrow, Alex Morton arrives as a member of the team: his first ToryDiary will appear in the morning.
Alex worked as an adviser to the Prime Minister in the Number 10 Policy Unit for two and a half years, leaving last week. Before doing so, he worked for Policy Exchange, in Parliament and as a civil servant – giving him experience ranging from being a graduate in the depths of the Whitehall machine to experience at the very top of government.
He will be writing fortnightly about the economy and about politics more broadly, and has particular expertise in CLG-related topics – devolution, housing and planning: all critical areas in the next few years
