The closing date for applications is 9am on March 16.

And March 25 will see a special general meeting of the Association to select the candidate.

As in Kensington, prospective candidates have been invited to write to the Candidates’ Department with your expression of interest and a 500 word statement “Why I would make a good Conservative candidate for you”.  The note from CCHQ adds: “please do not complete a seat CV”.

Stephen O’Brien held the seat with a majority of 13,255 in 2010.  He is standing down at the coming election having been appointed UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator.
