As Adam Afriyie writes over on our Comment blog, his amendment seeking a 2014 EU referendum was defeated today.
It did receive 14 votes from Conservative MPs, though.

It also got the support of Labour’s Mike Gapes, who has been prominent in the Opposition’s attempts to prevent the EU Referendum Bill from passing by delaying it at every step. Happily, James Wharton managed to keep his Bill on track.
