Following the selection of Robert Jenrick to be the Conservative candidate in Newark, a gap has opened up in the longlist of 15 hopefuls in Croydon South.

Happily, the association had prepared for such an eventuality and have added another candidate into the mix:

Luke Parker is an Associate Partner at IBM, and has spent his career in the IT industry. The son of publicans, he went to school in the constituency and now lives in South West London with his wife and three children. Parker helped to found the St Richard Reynolds College in Twickenham, and has campaigned in defence of faith schools. Earlier this year he came second in the Twickenham Open Primary, and he is currently studying towards a post graduate diploma in Strategy & Innovation at Oxford University.
