Looking at Table 8 of the DCLG Council Tax figures I see some more councils have cut their Council Tax than I had realised. Cheshire West and Chester are cutting by 0.25% – this is the amount they saved in staff wages due to the strikes last November. Since residents were inconvenienced by the strike action this was a proper response.

In some places the situation was complicated by parish precepts. But other councils that made small Council Tax cuts include Wellingborough and Central Bedfordshire.
