There are 152 councils with responsibility for education. That means there are 152 Directors of Children's Services. Many of them will be qualified teachers, all of them (presumably) will be CRB checked. They should not be sitting at their desks on Thursday. They should be in a classroom helping to keep a school open during the strike.

The same goes for the assorted other Assistant Directors, Programme Managers, Delivery Managers, School Improvement managers, Governor Support managers, Early Years strategists, Strategic Commissioners, Youth Commissioners, Admission Commissioners, SEN managers…

Get them all into the classroom. It might be good for them.

Where there is a head teacher who wants to keep their school open but is struggling they should be supported.
