Poole Borough Council is a unitary authority with all its seats up for election tomorrow. It is run by the Conservatives with 22 Conservative councillors, 17 for the Lib Dems and three others. In terms of candidates there are more from UKIP than from the Labour Party.
The main threat to a Conservative could come from the smattering of independents. Last December the Poole People Party narrowly gained a Council byelection from the Conservatives due to contentious planning decisions.
Education is a key issue. The Council was criticised for spying on a family trying to break the catchment area rules to get their child into a good school. Perhaps a new free school will help.
The Council Tax is slightly above the national average at £1,449.99.
