The Guardian has an exclusive today about the Government reviewing the right to buy thus "calling into question" whether to continue with it – all to appease the Lib Dems. It says the Housing Minister Grant Shapps is conducting the review and has the support on Downing Street.
An important scoop. Except the story is untrue.
A DCLG spokesman says:
"We have absolutely no plans to change the right to buy scheme, and it is not under review. Since its launch in the early 1980s, the right to buy scheme has helped thousands of people into home ownership and has helped create mixed communities."
