Lincoln Council is Conservative controlled. A third of the seats ae up for election on Thursday. When the Council was run by Labour the sickness absence by staff was 18.2 days a year. Under the Conservatives it has fallen to 8.7 days a year.

In terms of the General Election, the Lincoln constituency is our 83rd target. Of the 13 relevant wards, which include a couple under North Kesteven Council, when last contested seven went to the Conservatives, two went to Independents, one to Lib Dems and three to Labour.

Good luck to my friend Karl McCartney who is our candidate.
