The Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames has a Lib Dem Council. It has a dreadful record and is imposing the highest Council Tax bills in London. Just modest gains are needed for the Conservatives to take control.

In terms of the General Election there are two target seats Richmond Park (Target 61) and Kingston and Surbiton (Target 172.) While Richmond Park include some Kingston wards I have already written about that constituency under The Battle for Richmond.

So far as the Kingston and Surbiton constituency iis concerned there are 12 relevant wards. When last contested seven of them went to the Lib Dems, three went to the Conservatives one was a Lib Dem/Con split and one was a Lab/Lib Dem split. However some of the Lib Dems wards are held by narrow margins. Good luck to the Conservative candidate Helen Whateley.
