Wirral Council has a new Conservative leadership. The Lib Dems had previously sustained a Labour led Council but have now formed a joint administration with the Conservatives. At the elections on May 6 the Conservatives gained two seats and remained the largest Party.

Congratulations to Cllr Jeff Green, the Council's first Conservative leader for almost a quarter of a century. It will certainly be a challenge changing the culture. The Council has been very badly run hitherto.

There does seem to be a pattern emerging of the coalition in Westminster being reflected in more Town Halls. Lab/Lib Dem coalitions running Councils just feels a bit odd now.
