Amber Valley has a Conservative council with a third of the seats up for election on May 6th. This year it has achieved a Council Tax freeze. This is the first time this happened in the council's 36 year history and was made possible after shedding 70 posts at the Town Hall. The move was attacked by the Labour Party – who then abstained in the vote
In terms of the Amber Valley constituency this is our 137th General Election target. There are 15 relevant wards. the last time they were contested the Conservatives won nine, Labour four and the BNP two. Good luck to our candidate Nigel Mills, who is a local councillor.
