The Greens have gained a seat from the Conservatives on Brighton and Hove Council by winning the Goldsmid Ward byelection. The Conservatives are now a minority administration. The Greens are now level with Labour each having 13 councillors.

The result:

Green 1,456   (38% +18.)
Conservative 1,104. (29%. No change.)
Labour 816   (22% -5)
Lib Dem 280. (7% -7)
UKIP 129. (3% from nowhere.)
Green gain from Conservatives.
