Staffordshire has seen Labour lose every seat of the seats they were defending of those results declared at the time of writing. Of the 13 seats so far the Conservatives have won all of them gainng six from Labour all in Tamworth. Some staggering swings. For instance in Watling South, previously a Labour ward, the Conservative candidate beat Labour by 1,908 votes to 590.

Sir Robert Peel would be pleased.

UPDATE

Another five Tory gains – four from Labour, one from Lib Dems. All in the Cannock Chase area. Good news for our candidate for the Cannock Chase constituency in the General Election, my friend and fellow Hammersmith and Fulham councillor, Aidan Burley.

So far Labour have one councillor.
