In Mid Bedfordshire the Conservatives won 54 seats, Lib Dems 11 and there was one independent. Labour did not win a single seat. This is a new unitary council so the BBC don't give gains and losses. But a bit of an idea is that in the district councils that used to exist in the area Mid Bedfordshire had 38 Conservative, 11 Lib Dems and no Labour councillors while South Bedfordshire had 34 Conservatives, 11 Lib Dems and four Labour councillors. So the result does seem to me to indicate a Conservative advance in what was already a strong area for us.
