The SNP-run devolved Scottish Government says it will provide enough funding for a Council Tax freeze in Scotland next year. £70 million will be handed over to Councils to compensate them for a zero increase. Labour say that £70 million is the same amount as this year so a freeze will be harder to achieve. But the SNP Finance Minister John Swinney says that under the "GDP deflator" it would have been £58 million so it shouldn’t be a problem at all.
