On Thursday, ConservativeHome revealed that an official Momentum group had published a list of 49 Labour MPs whom the group thought should “join the Liberals”. The following day, our story spread to the national media – making the front page headline on The Times, and sparking further discussion of what, if any, future there is for non-Corbynites in the modern Labour Party.

Following complaints to the Whips by Labour MPs, Momentum HQ ordered the post to be taken down – rather undermining the theory touted until-then by Corbynites on Twitter that I had fabricated the official South Tyneside Momentum Facebook page. The group responsible for publishing the list then posted a statement trying to excuse and explain away its comments. Unfortunately, that statement left more than a little to be desired:

So other than that, another shining example of “straight-talking, honest politics”.
