Aside from a few small skirmishes, and a bit of manoeuvring over TfL’s planned Uber regulations, things have been fairly quiet in the London Mayoral campaign of late.
However, that seems to be changing, as the Conservative Party has launched a new attack advert targeted at Sadiq Khan’s inconsistencies, and an accompanying website – SadiqWatch.com. With the election just under six months away, it’s the first opening of true hostilities between the competitors.
From his about-turn on business taxation to his close links to claiming to support a 24-hour tube service despite his close links to unions which oppose it, the video lands some blows on Khan’s credibility.
Some eyebrows will likely be raised at the decision to pick out his flip-flopping on the question of Heathrow, though, on today of all days – as the Government continues to have its own difficulties with the issue.
