The first selection result of the night is in – congratulations in Chichester (Conservative majority 24,413) to:

  • Cllr Gillian Keegan (pictured, right): Serving as Director of Women2Win since 2015, Keegan sits on Chichester District Council (where she is the Cabinet member for Commercial Services). A businesswoman by background, she contested the constituency of St Helens South and Whiston in the 2015 General Election, and is a member of the Board of Governors for Western Sussex NHS Hospital Trust .

Commiserations, too, to Ruth Davis, who was defeated but has taken the result in good grace, swiftly tweeting her congratulations to Keegan.

Immediately before the selection meeting in Northampton South, the association announced their shortlist, too. Those currently competing before the members there are Emma Lane (who was shortlisted in Aldershot),
Andrew Lewer MEP (who has written several times for this site) and Louis Mosley (who was shortlisted in Darlington).
