There’s been a lot said about the parliamentary push for the Newark by-election – and I wrote yesterday about the tactic of rushing MPs and candidates into the seat en masse.
Should there have been any doubts that CCHQ is serious about demanding each MP visits three times, and each Cabinet Minister five, the following two photos of the attendance lists pinned up in the campaign office should dispel any doubts:

Lots of MPs in #Newark supporting @RobertJenrick – been up today with @nickdebois and @Davidburrowesmppic.twitter.com/MwTuWgVUhC

The register is evidently being taken quite strictly, with no exceptions for rank – among the scores of MPs’ names up on the wall I can make out Eric Pickles, Sajid Javid, Philip Hammond, Patrick McLoughlin, Michael Gove and the Prime Minister himself.
On balance, I think Desmond Swayne pips Neil Carmichael to the post for most flamboyant signature.
