Surprising news from Nottingham South – Dr Rowena Holland, who stood for the seat in 2010 and had since been reselected to fight the seat in 2015, has stepped down as PPC.
The decision has come about due to a career change which will see her move to America, apparently. Perhaps we’ll hear more of Rowena if and when she returns to the UK – the Association chairman certainly has warm words for her in the local newspaper.
A replacement candidate will be selected in the New Year. Competition could be quite hot, as in 2010 Dr Holland reduced Labour’s majority to only 1,772 votes. Indeed, it’s one of the 40 “attack” seats in the 40/40 strategy which the party hopes to win in order to form a government in 2015.
